Global energy questions on Norway’s political agenda: Which role should Norway play globally?

Investing in renewable energy and particularly in emerging markets is key to combat climate change. Finding long-term green energy solutions is vital if we are to get on track to limit global warming, help create energy security and a pave the pathway to net zero.

Renewable energy presents an opportunity for countries to boost their economic growth, meet the energy needs of a growing population, improve living standards, provide a new source of employment, all while simultaneously reducing dependency on fossil fuels and eliminating the vulnerabilities that it entails. It is with this top of mind that we have set our long-term vision and ambitions to be a changemaker for societies and create clean and affordable energy where it is needed most.

This week Norway’s biggest political gathering of politicians and industry leaders is taking place in Arendal. Scatec is on the ground to put global energy questions on the political agenda.

Our CEO Terje Pilskog will be discussing the energy crisis in Ukraine, renewable energy in Africa, with a particular focus on South Africa, Norway’s role in driving the green shift in emerging economies, and how to speed up the development of a market for green hydrogen.

We look forward to seeing you there or you can follow our debates via live and recorded streaming via our online channels.
