6 April 2022: Next week, Scatec, a leading renewable energy solutions provider, will be represented at the Future of Energy conference hosted by FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, and Solarplaza – a unique gathering of global renewable energy players in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
For its 4th edition, the scope will stretch beyond solar development, and will now also venture into hybrid (wind) applications, green hydrogen, energy storage, distributed energy, and grid infrastructure.
Kate Bragg, SVP M&A and Strategy at Scatec, will talk about these technologies as part of a panel discussion ‘Regional Deep Dive’ on Monday 11 April at 11:25 CEST. Kate will discuss the development of renewables across Africa, touching upon the vast opportunities on the continent, alongside challenges including grid availability and early-stage access to financing.
“The demand for renewables is growing at an exponential pace, spurred on by increasingly urgent climate warnings, along with escalating economic and geopolitical factors. The relative competitiveness of renewables has strengthened over time compared to conventional energy sources, and it is now the most cost-efficient power source in much of the world,” says Kate Bragg. “We cover the full range of technologies in Africa – from wind sites and solar plants in South Africa, to hydropower in Uganda, and green hydrogen and ammonia in Egypt. The same trends are hitting Africa as other continents.”
In today’s energy system, we see in particular a megatrend unfolding within Power-to-X, and we are now building a position in this market with our renewable expertise, business model, and market presence.
During 2021 we advanced our Power-to-X strategy through several new initiatives, which included green hydrogen and ammonia. Henrik Lund, our strategy analyst, will be talking about these topics in the session “How to make green hydrogen bankable” at 14:25 CEST on Tuesday 12 April.
We can’t wait to network with you! Our team will be present during both days, so please stop by booth #9.
The event runs from 11-12 April and attracts more than 400 high-level renewable players – from top developers to investors. With an emphasis on networking opportunities, interactive panel discussions and world-class keynotes, ‘Future of Energy’ will condense a year of business development into two days of learning,
