Scatec elevates key strategic focus areas to executive level

The renewables leader promotes new members to the management team to reflect strategy and ambitions

In a recently held townhall with employees, Chief Executive Officer Terje Pilskog announced some key changes to the executive management team during his first week as new CEO.

“This is about fulfilling our strategy in the best way possible. And we are introducing new areas to our management team to reflect this,” says Pilskog. “This is an important step to sharpening our focus and accelerating key initiatives by adjusting our executive team to align with our ambitions.”

New members appointed to Scatec’s executive team
Scatec has promoted Kate Bragg to be the company’s new Head of Corporate Development. She will lead strategy, M&A and a newly created unit called CEO Office. She comes from the position as SVP, Head of M&A and Strategy and has been with the company for almost a year. Prior to joining Scatec, Kate spent four years at Statkraft in the strategy department and before that was working at the management consultancy McKinsey.

Ann-Mari Lillejord will take the lead on project development for Scatec’s traditional utility scale business, including hydropower. She comes from the position as SVP Project Development and rejoined Scatec in April. Ann-Mari was with Scatec for more than four years before moving to HitecVision as a partner in 2021.

In addition, the company’s moves into green hydrogen and ammonia, a part of its “Power to X” strategy, is being lifted to executive level. This area will be managed by Pål Helsing in the interim, in addition to his current role as EVP Solutions.

Release becomes a business unit
The company has also decided to build Release by Scatec into an independent business unit that will report to an internal Board of Directors. Release is a flexible leasing agreement of pre-assembled and containerized solar PV and battery equipment, designed to stimulate adoption of solar power. Current legal counsel Snorre Valdimarsson will serve as Chair of the Board for Release, and two additional board members will be appointed in the near-term. Hans Olav Kvalvaag will become CEO for this venture.

“We are moving at a fast pace, and we have strong momentum across our portfolio of activities. We are well-positioned and making strategic moves in the renewables space at right time and in the right places, and with the right people on board the executive team to help fulfill our high ambitions,” adds Pilskog.
