An attractive support scheme for solar power led to a strong market growth in the Czech Republic from 2009 to 2011. There has since this time been limited growth in the solar market in the country. Scatec developed and built four solar power plants in 2009 and 2010 with a total capacity of 20 MW.
The Czech Portfolio consists of four fully owned solar power plants, which is among the ten largest solar plants in the Czech Republic, situated in West and South part of the country. One of the plants was built on a former waste dump of heavy metals, turning polluted land into a green activity. The portfolio holds a 20-year PPA with CEZ Distribuce and EON Distribuce. Lenders are Eksportfinans (guaranteed by GIEK) and Nordea.
