Scatec Solar presents industry view in Cairo

Scatec Solar, Africa’s leading solar PV developer, presented international developer perspectives on the Egyptian solar market at MESIA’s annual renewable energy trade mission held from 27th-28th of April 2015. Terje Osmundsen, Senior Vice President introduced participants to unique challenges faced by international developers in the market and also gave potential solutions to the challenges. The challenges included finance, legal and regulatory risks.

The purpose of the Renewable Energy Trade Mission in Egypt organized by MESIA (Middle East Solar Industry Association) was to give a comprehensive outlook on developments in the Egyptian solar and wind market and to review the proposed regulatory framework for developing solar projects in the country.
