Community PV and Kindergarten

In Bom Sucesso, we upgraded the local kindergarten and provided it with renewable energy.

The challenge

The community of Bom Sucesso is located only a few hundred meters away from our 162 MW Apodi solar plant. While direct project impacts were limited, the need for a kindergarten upgrade was early communicated in a consultation process with the residents.

How we worked together

The project included refurbishing the kindergarten and its outdoor areas and installing solar PV on the rooftops from leftover panels from the Apodi plant. The PV solution creates long-term value – ensuring stable and clean electricity for both the kindergarten and the neighbouring health centre and contributing to lowering electricity costs.

“We structured the project as a mini EPC-project, which means that we used the same project management tools as we do for our solar plants. There was a solid project plan with clear and measurable targets. The local community was involved in the project from start to finish”, says Johan Tingulstad, VP E&S Global.

We didn’t just think about the students and teachers, we also thought about the community enjoying the space, the environment. We worked as a team committed to realizing this dream for the community.
