In 2010, SN Power decides to construct the Cheves hydropower project in Peru (171 MW/ 812 GWh). The construction starts in 2011 with a completion planned for 2014. Cheves lies on the river Huaura, north of Lima.
The power plant has already received approval from UN’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and will reduce Peru’s CO2 emissions by 394 000 tons annually.
In the same year, Agua Imara signs a cooperation agreement with Credicorp Group in Panama, while SN Power enters into a partnership with the International Finance Corporation in Vietnam.
