Meet our changemakers

Our winning formula in Egypt combines innovation, scale, and strategic vision to drive impactful renewable energy projects that set new standards in the industry. We entered Egypt in 2015 and have 380 MW in operation, making us the largest solar developer in the country. We’re also pioneering first-of-its-kind initiatives, including ambitious green hydrogen and ammonia projects that place Egypt at the forefront of the global energy transition. Our commitment to cutting-edge technology is exemplified by our 1GW solar and 200MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, which is designed to deliver reliable, sustainable power at an unprecedented scale. Together, these projects underscore our dedication to creating a cleaner, more resilient energy future for Egypt and beyond.

Sazi Ramoekipa, O&M Manager Round 4

“I think the most important thing to do as a changemaker is to prepare yourself to seize any opportunity that might arise for you and continually improve yourself. No matter how difficult things may be, never give up on your dreams,” says Sazi Ramoekipa.

Sazi was born and raised in South Africa, and today he works as operations and maintenance (O&M) manager for Scatec, a position he was promoted to in January 2022.

Ledjane Oliveira, Social Coordinator

“In order to build a long-term future for Scatec in Brazil, we need to build relationships of trust. That means listening, understanding, and involving them when we run projects. And when we do this right, we can improve the future,” says Social Coordinator Ledjane Oliveira.

Social Coordinators like Ledjane are Scatec’s frontline workers. They are typically the first to be hired to a renewable energy project, and early on they are responsible for mapping out the area and engaging with local stakeholders.
